Meidiana Kusuma

I just realised how hard live it is without my laptop around. It was stolen last July I need to bare with it until now (psst couldn't afford a new one up until now). Trying to sort up everything up especially when all those back up things (external hard drive and MMC) were gone with it too and I'm becoming such a bad blogger who haven't been update my blog for more than four months.

Anyway, this post already sitting on my draft for around 4 months and finally have time to actually post it.

I went to beautiful cafe located on the corner of Tuffy Avenue and Fontainebleau street, this small local cafe is dominated with black and white colours have been in the business for around 7 years (how come I did not know about that). There is bus stop right in front of the cafe so for those who don't drive it's pretty easy to reach the place.

I've been noticing this cafe for some time from my fellow Sydney foodies friends and I realized that this cafe has some colorful all day breakfast menus. With all these beautiful and tasty dishes, this place easily become one of my favourite place now.

Acai Berry Breakfast Bowl

You might want to start your day with their delicious breakfast bowl. It's not only healthy but also pretty at the same time. You want to feed your tummy and soul with this super fresh breakfast bowl with fresh sliced fruit, shredded coconut, granola and chia seed. What a lovely dish.

The Pretty Smash

Nothing goes wrong if you order this pretty smash, unlike your normal smashed avo, this dish has yummy beetroot hummus on the side and it makes all the flavours complete. Perfect poached egg, yummy smashed avocado, sliced tomatoes and feta cheese.

The Smokey Pump Pumpkin

This is my favourite dish, I think I could have this one for breakfast, lunch or even dinner. The smooth and seasoned roasted pumpkin really melted in my mouth with a tasty smoked salmon on the side (this was and add-on)

Berry Delight Pancakes

A beautiful pancakes stack with berry compote, Canadian maple syrup and Vanilla cream. This pancake was really fluffy, delightful and as you can see too beautiful to be eaten. What a perfect dessert to end your brunch with.

The Sweet French Toast

Need another dessert option? you can also order this one, two brioche toasts with bunch of sliced fresh fruit, blueberry compote, Canadian maple syrup. It a win-win solution for this summer heat dessert.

Really can't wait to go back to Bella Dee for another feast it was absolutely 5 out of 5 star rating from me.

Meeting new people is not only fun but it's also a great way to widen your network, moreover if we meet new friends with same passion. I was invited by Kera and Amber to join them brunch at Qube on Bay. What do we have in common? all of us have the same passion on food photography and food blog, how cool is that?

Qube on bay is located on Bay street, really close to Broadway shopping mall in Ultimo. Funny thing is, I used to live around 100 meters from the place, yes that close and I didn't realize that this place served really good meal, silly Meidi.

We went there to try their winter special menu and it was not only one, but there are 4 winter special menus to warm up this season. We started our brunch by ordering coffee while waiting for all special menus to be served.

Starting off with drinks, I ordered Mocha meanwhile Kera got her cold drip and as long as I remember Amber got her latte but it was not the end, their friendly staff also handed special affogato for us. Why is it special? They usually have affogato with vanilla or black sesame ice cream but that day, we got red velvet ice cream. Yes you read it right, RED VELVET, how awesome is that!.

Our brunch table situation

The Meatball ($16), oven baked meatball with basil pesto, house made Napolitana sauce, mozarella, crispy sage and served with sourdough toast. This is one of my favorite, their Napolitana sauce was seasoned well and the meatball was really tasty. It really blow my mind away, I thought it will just an "okay" dish but it wasn't.

The meatball

Next is Wood smoked salmon rillette ($18), wasabi salmon rillette on the top of sourdough toast, radicchio, avocado, topped with creme fraiche, salmon roe, pomegranate. I always think that eating fish or seafood for your first meal as close as to a healthy start of the day. This dish is so flavorful, you will get sweet, sour and bitter all in one dish. Top of that, the presentation was really pretty and appetizing.

Wood smoked salmon rillette

Crab meat croquette sando ($17), crab meat & potato croquette on soft white bread with cabagge and fennel slaw, mustard mayo, kastu sauce and served with sweet potato crisp. The fact that this dish and the previous one has Japanese food influence was perfect for me. Yes, Japanese food is my second favorite food right after Indonesian food (of course). I like the texture of the croquette and how big it was. The slaw worked well with its fresh and crunchiness.

Crab meat croquette sando

Winter Broth ($15), pearl barley, red lentil, quinoa, kale, shitake, toasted pepitas with garlic toast. To be honest, I just tried the soup a little bit to know how does it taste. I'm not a big fan of quinoa in a form of soup nor lentil but the soup is quite good for my liking and perfect for that chilly morning.

Winter broth

French toast ($17), brioche french toast with matcha mascarpone, yuzu curd, seasonal berries, toasted pecan. This one is not part of the special menu, we also ordered this one, because most of the people who come to Qube on Bay tried this one and Kera also recommended us to try. Do you want to know what was the one make this dish special? beside the fresh berries, It was Matcha mascarpone. I love mascarpone but I didn't realize I love matcha mascarpone even more until I tried this one. The texture of the french toast was good, it was not too dry nor too soggy.

This experience undoubtedly become one of my favorite brunch time in Sydney, this year. I'm pretty sure I will come back to this place for another special menu or even for their french toast, gosh I keep dreaming about it.

Thank you Amber from @sydneybrunchstylist for extending the invite, I dined as a guest of Qube on Bay but all photos and opinions are mine.

Right after I saw this colorful and rounded bottom plastic cup on my foodies friend's Instagram feed, I straight away put this place into my list. This bubble tea shop is brand new and located near Central Park Mall, Sydney. It is located on the junction of Abercrombie street and O'connor street, perhaps this info might be useful for those who can't find the address.

Thanks to Aminah, the person behind @cherri_cupcake, I finally paid a visit to this lovely store. We browsed the menu a little while and decided to order Honey I'm home ($6.5) and Milky Strawberry ($6.5) as they did not have Avocado Strawberry at that moment. They have 2 different size, regular and large one, we went on regular size one (just because the plastic cups were too cute and we thought we couldn't finish the large one).

Honey, I'm Home

Milky Strawberry

It’s milky and it has strawberry 🍓, it is MILKY STRAWBERRY $6.5 • It is one of their signature drink, there are sliced strawberries and strawberry pearls inside this drink, the pearls tasted different from the ordinary one, it was chewier and so goood. • This bubble tea shop just opened on early June and there is a florist on the shop, no wonder the interior also looks so pretty • 📍Bubble Nini Tea 180/8 Central Park Ave, Chippendale • #bubbleninitea #centralpark #eatwithmeidi #sydneyfoodies #eeeeeats #prettydrinks

So how was it? The verdict is I love these drinks, the Milky Strawberry has strawberry pearls (yess you read it right!! it was strawberry pearls), sliced strawberry. It was not only pretty but also tasty. This milky drink really suit me well and I was surprise with the pearls, it was different from the other bubble tea store. This one is chewier and absolutely authentic with those strawberry flavor for this drink and matcha flavor for the matcha milk tea.

On the other hand, the Honey I'm Home which filled with honey lemon juice, chia seeds, butterfly flower, sliced lemon and some crunchy sliced fruit (i'm not really sure about what was it, I will ask the staff on my next visit) was the refreshing sour drink. I bet, it originally has blue color and turned into purple as the sliced of lemon dipped onto the cup. Ah by the way you can also adjust the amount of sugar and ice on your order.

the drink on the left side called HONEY I’M HOME $6.5 • Chia seeds, butterfly flower, honey lemon juice • Swipe left if you wanna see the before and after the cup shaken • #eatwithmeidi #bubbleninitea #prettydrinks #bubbletea #sydneyeats #sydneyeatstreet

If you think this is an ordinary bubble tea shop, then you are completely wrong. It is not only a bubble tea shop combined with the florist which makes this place special. Their pearls are also the things which this place is extraordinary. First, they make the bubble (pearls) fresh and if we are lucky enough, we can even watch how they create the pearls in store. Second, they have various type of pearls, matcha, taro, strawberry, etc. Interesting, right?

There are some others menu which I need to try on my next visit and hopefully there is also a new menu to try and I can watch them make the pearls too.

See you on the next food adventure, foodies!

Radley's Rotisserie Chicken & Burger is coming to Sydney under the same group with The Rotisserie restaurant in China Square Food Centre, Singapore. This restaurant famous with its rotisserie chicken and gourmet salads, with affordable price and yes you will be surprised with their price.

Radley's Rotisserie is located at ground level, Chatswood chase and has been open for about 5 months. They serve food options from chicken, burger, steak, salads to cookies and pastries. The interior is simple and chic with open-kitchen concept and they have a unique ceiling fan.

Our table situation

Prime Rib Steak with hot chips $15
This 200gr Black Angus Steak really surprised me. I can't believe this huge portion super yummy of medium rare steak only cost you A$15 and it already served with hot chips and gravy. My palate was seriously spoiled with the well cooked steak and yummy gravy. The steak was really yummy and melt in my mouth. Definitely a must order food in Radley's.

Half rotisserie chicken with hot chips $14

Would you believe me if I said this price even cheaper than their Singapore's branch? Their chicken were really juicy, tender and well seasoned. You might want to dip it to their special gravy.

Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger $10.50

Chicken Schnitzel with hot chips $10.50

Let's us forget about Taiwanese XL chicken for a while and order this chicken schnitzel because first it is bigger than that and second for $10.5 you already get this crispy and yummy schnitzel plus hot chips, I'm pretty sure you really wanna give it a try.

Crispy Chicken Kimchi Sliders (2 portion per serve) $10

Here is my other favorite menu in Radley and this is actually their new menu. What makes this sliders special? of course the kimchi and not to mention the crispy chicken and the fresh spinach in between.

Chargrilled Beef Tacos (2 portion per serve) $12

These beef tacos are also their new menu, you will get 2 portion per serve with generous sliced beef. This dish was really yummy with a great combination of sliced chargrilled beef, guacamole, salsa, cilantro and a spicy kick from jalapenos.

Hot chips are already included in most of the ala carte menu, by adding $2 you can replace hot chips to veggies or salad.

Buttermilk Hotcakes with Honeycomb Butter and Maple Syrup A$9

For dessert, they have this sweet and fluffy buttermilk hotcakes with strawberries, banana, honeycomb butter and maple syrup. Well, if you think the picture shown above is not really appealing but trust me, you need to try this by yourself. I'm quite unsure at the beginning, but it was really mind blowing and unexpectedly good.

Overall, I really had a great time at Radleys and really can't wait to bring my friends to have lunch here again. A great food, generous portion with affordable price, I think many people will start to choose this place as their new favorite restaurant in Chatswood.

Welcoming autumn season in Sydney, The Mews restaurant in Mosman has some new meals to be enjoyed along this season. The Mews is located close to Spit junction and it also close to the bus stop so taking a bus to the place is quite convenience.

It was my first time visiting the restaurant and I came with some foodies friend. Pssstt for your info, if you come to The Mews on a nice sunny day, I suggest you to pick the outdoor seating area. The place is quite popular in Mosman and you might want to come early to avoid long queue for your lunch. This place is known for its eye-popping and pretty meals presentation on your lunch plate.

This was my lunch situation with @hungryhelina and @jelak.not at @themewsmosman yesterday • Too bad they run out the pigs benedicts, and here they are (clockwise start from bottom right) 🦀 Crabs in Black 🍆 Grilled Halloumi Stack 🐖 Braised Pork Shakshuka 🥞 Ricotta Hotcake • You might want to come early to this place, because it will getting busy during lunchtime • #TheMews #themewsmosman #Lunch #Lunchtime #Mosman #sydneyfoodies #sydneyeats #sydney #sydneyfood #eatwithmeidi #food #foodie #foodblog #prettylunch #stayhungry #fcba #fcbansw #fcbacommunity #foodiesfriends #eeeeeats #yummy #foodporn #breakfastinsydney

I ordered Crabs in Black ($20) which is soft shell crab, charred sweet corns and fried egg on the top of charcoal brioche served with black aioli and salmon caviar. The amount of crab meat was really generous and the taste was really good and not to mention the crispy fried crab shell. The presentation of the black aioli on the plate was resembling a painting and the taste of black aioli was really suit to the whole meal.

Helina ordered braised pork shakshuka ($18) which is baked eggs with braised pork, red capsicum, tomatoes, chickpeas, feta cheese, pistachio dukkah and roti.

Clarisse ordered grilled halloumi stack ($17) which is spiced eggplant, heirloom tomato, cucumber, tomato relish, crispy quinoa, grilled halloumi, poached egg and green balsamic served with sourdough toast. I like its sweet and sour taste which is come from tomato relish.

To complete the meal, we ordered ricotta hotcake ($16) for sharing as our dessert. This hotcake is topped with whipped ricotta, fresh berries, caramelized fig, fairy floss and maple syrup. It was super pretty and delicious. I never had a hotcake with whipped ricotta and it turned out really good. If you are searching some photo of this dish on Instagram you might find they have many different fairy floss colors, on that day I had white color.

Overall I had a really great lunch at The Mews and will looking forward for its new creation in the future. You guys keen to visit this restaurant too, aren't you?

Looking for a nice place to spend time with some friend for brunch or waiting for sunset? I think you might want to check Empire Lounge, in Rose Bay, eastern suburb of Sydney. It located next to Rose Bay ferry wharf and makes Empire Lounge can be easily access by Ferry from Circular Quay.

It was my first time experience to a seaplane terminal and watching a seaplane landing and take-off. This dining has indoor, outdoor and private room areas, I bet you want to sit outside near the seaplane bridge.

Well, yes I picked outside dining table on the corner although the wind was quite strong because I didn't want to miss the view and of course the seaplane.

Me and my friend ordered Ocean Trout and Spanner Crab for our late lunch and tried their Iced coffee, Mango lime and Berries coconut smoothies. We've been offered a special dessert of the day by the staff and why not? we directly agreed for it.

Here's our table situation, Ocean trout, Spanner crab, smoothies and iced coffee

It took quite a while to wait for our food, but it really worth it. My Ocean trout was super fresh and yummy, it was basically cured Ocean Trout, served with salmon roe, coriander oil, stracciatella and toasted sourdough. My friend salad was also super fresh with greens, spanner crab, crouton and salad dressing.

For those whose love Mango, I recommended you to try Empire Lounge's Mango Lime Smoothie. You will not miss the kick of lime zest. For Berries and Coconut Smoothie, they used coconut milk on the drink. Well, to be honest I would prefer if they strained the berries seed for the best one (or maybe it's only me).

And the ultimate special desert we tried was becoming the star of the day. This Black Cherry and Chocolate cake was really the BOOM. I didn't ask about the darkness of the chocolate, but its chocolate was not really sweet which is good and light sweet sour black cherry become a perfect combination. The texture the chocolate cake was similar to mousse except it more dense.

Special chocolate dessert, this one is really nice

Overall, I really had a nice "late" lunch with a beautiful view and as per my experience this place would be perfect for brunch and the forget to ask their staff for their special dessert. Beside the seafood menu, they also have beef tartare, chicken slider, salads, cheese and charcuterie.

Thank you @thetravellercouple , @ummcom and Empire lounge for this giveaway prize.
